Comment:
i have 2 cd-rom drives, a dvd-rom, & a cdr/rw. until i installed sp1 e/t was fine. now that i upgraded to sp1 my cdr/rw does not read any disks. here are some facts about the problem: -it is my secondary master in BIOS. -the drive is listed in "my computer". -when i click on the icom (D: drive) a window opens and nothing is in it. -it does not read ANY type of disk. -the drive is listed in device manager and it says: this device is working normaly. -it does however work in "safe mode". -it is an NEC drive, model# NR-7800B. i hope that covers it all. looking for some help.

Try removing one cd-rom,and replace it with your cd-rw drive, because there are too many IDE devices on your system. If this doesnt work, unninstall sp1, because it may not support so many devices.
