Greetings,
As like many of you people, my pc with XP on it never quits to surprise me once in a while. Even though I am an XP user from the start, everytime I get uniqe problems/annoyances that have never encountered before.
This time my CD-ROMs (one is CD-RW ) are giving me melon scratchers. They simply won't refresh the name of the CDs on the explorer page and sometimes won't display the name of the discs. For example, the name of the CD on my H drive is still showing the name of the game that I installed 2 days ago, and 'cause I have not rebooted since then.
Secondly, is there a way to auto-maximize every new window I open. Maximizing every new window is quite annoying. May be there is a hotkey that I have no knowkedge of.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry i have no help for you as mine does the same, someone will help us sooooooon.
What are "Melon Scratchers"?

I think you can try a software called system mechanic.
When you run the program you get many selections, but must first check to be sure that the big SYSTEM icon is selected.
Then select CUSTOMIZE WINDOWS SETTINGS.
At the new selection screen press CD-ROM.
Make sure you have selected both options there. (Should be a V in both 2 white squares.
Restart the computer and try inserting cd's again.
Now your cd should refresh with the right names, and when they run the first time you might get a new option screen, but it does that on XP.
I don't know why.I hope this helps !!
Ps: This program also cleans system registry and cleaning up temporary files that is just taking up space on your harddisk.
Great tool this one.

For automaximize all windows you must first resize the first window after pressing MY COMPUTER.
The doubleclick on the blue bar at top or by pressing maximize at the top right on you screen.
If i am right your windows is now small again.
You should now press and hold mousebutton on the blue bar at top, and move it to the right position at top left of your screen, then release the mouse button.
Then press the dots at the bottom right of you window and hold the mouse button in, and simply drag the mouse button to the bottom right of your screen, then release the mouse button.
You can now try to open windows by entering MY COMPUTER again, and they should work.
If they don't then maybe someone else can help you, because then i don't know what's wrong.
