My computer was dropped. Everything is working fine except the cd-rom it will not open close or even light up at all. I checked in the device manager and it says it's working properly. I was able to open it pushing a paper clip in the hole. Any ideas?? It's a Toshiba laptop

There is agood chance that it is just unplugged from the power source. They are not too hard to check out as all you do is turn them over and undo the bottom plate and unscrew two or three screws and it will slide right out. Once out you will be able to look at all the connections and also the part of the motherboard that is next to the drive to examine it for cracks and damage of any kind.
