CDROM volume name does not refresh in XP

THERE MUST BE AN ANSWER to this problem?

The CDROM will not update the title of the CDROM which I insert. At times it simply does not even show anything as the title??

I have a dual boot Win98/xp and there is no problem under 98! Is there a patch or a fix of some type fo xp or are my other programs causing a problem (IE) CloneCD, Nero???

This happens occasionally... press F5 to refresh and the volume name should change.

I get the same problem some times, I just close Windows Explorer and then re-open it. If that does not work I just curse M$ and and their OS. Even though the volume name doesnt change, the data does.

I have the same problem and the answer is not in refreshing the screen. If you do, you will quickly see the correct icon (about a millisecond) and then it reverts to the last used CD volume in the drive. The only way to refresh the CD is a restart. I have Nero and I suspect that is the culprit. I will see what I can find... we may have to change a setting in XP as far as burning is configured or possibly a registry tweak... but I'm not sure yet. I'll post if I find anything.

Funny you should mention the installation of CD writing software as a link because it has started happening to me since I installed CloneCD... although not all the time I will confess.


Since the installation of CloneCD, I also get the occasional IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL_TO Stop Error.

I have the same problem, I thought it was because I don't use explorer as my default shell. I also have nero installed i'm going to try out the new 5.5.7.8 release maybe that'll fix it, who knows?

Thanks guys! I guess there is no solution as yet...FYI I am running all the latest Cdclone and NERO but the problem remains??? if anyone finds a patch or other info please provide the link......

I too am having this problem... I am using XP, and have both Nero and CloneCD installed. This started happening when I installed CloneCD... any ideas anyone?

I have an Idea. Don't install Clone CD, cuz it sucks. Im using Nero , and another program called Blindwrite, and they work together. I hear lots of bad news about Clone CD. Its a nice program, FOR ME TO POOP ON!
