I have a problem with my cd-rom setup right now. I recently installed Windows XP and for some reason my cd-rom drive will not work under normal startup. It works fine if I start Windows under standard safe mode, but not if I start under safe mode with networking. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem in work with Win 98, try reinstalling XP on top of XP and that should solve you problem, worked for me :-)
