I am assuming that you are using the CD burning software that came with the Iomega drive. I know that the Adaptec/Roxio software I had from Iomega had to be updated when I installed XP Pro on my PC. Try looking for an XP update on the Iomega site at this address: http://www.iomega.com/software/adaptec.html

Hope this helps a bit.

Go to Start--Run--regedit, then hit enter. The registry key to look at is in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre
ntVersion\Explorer\CDBurning\Drives
Windows sets the value for ordinary cdrom drives at 3. To get the drive recognized as a recorder, you edit the value to 1 if it is a cdr burner, or 2 if it is a cdrw burner.
As soon as you adjust the registry entry, the recording tab will be available in the cd drive properties
