After use with a cd and then I put another in, the CD-ROM disappears from My Computer and Device Manager. The Problem goes away after a restart. I have had it in the Manufactures repair shop twice and they said there is nothing wrong with it. Then, I get it home and it happens again. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I had the same sort of a problem with a DVD drive. After I burned one or maybe two DVDs in a row, the drive would disappear. I finally discovered that it was because the drive was getting too hot. I removed the drive from the case and installed it externally using a USB adapter and didn't have any more problems. It 'was' in the upper front corner where there is very little air movement and I think that was the reason.
