I have norton net security and virus installed, i cant see it being this but hey prove me wrong. device mngr is picking them up. i go to nero and it finds only a virtual device in thier? any advice???

It could be one of your settings on norton antivirus or firewall (if you have it). Something similiar happened to me. If that doesnt work try scanning for viruses but i think it is one of your settings

I am having the exact same problems you are. Are you by any chance using Lite-On cd/dvd drives? Because I am, and my situation is a mirror copy of yours. I have a cd/rw and dvd...neither work on all user accounts.
