CD/DVD ROM Drive

My CD/DVD Rom is not recognizing CD's. The drive is "working properly" in the System Device Manager but it does not see any of the files on the CD.

I'm having the same problem with my CDROM/CDRW. Someone in an earlier post said to check the device manager and see if it had the error sign by it, but it doesn't and it says it's working properly as well. One also said to use a disc cleaner and clean it, but if it's recognizing any other cds I stick in, doubt it will read that one. Mine has stopped spinning altogether. Guess I'll get a new one when they go on sell! LOL

Summary: Thanks Very much, that done the trick perfectly. It wasn't the CD/DVD Rom drive that needed to bere-installed, but the IDE channel. Don't know why I didn't think of it before (probably 'cos I'm thick)...
