Recently my D: (CD/DVD) and E: (CD/DVD burner) drives icons disappeared. I repaired by unplugging the drives, restarting, then replugging and restarting. I also follwed instructions found here for removing upper and lower filter limits. Drives now work find. BUT the drive icons change to the first disk played in each session and retain that designation for entire session no matter what other disk is inserted.

Any ideas. I'm baffled.

Thanks much.

I have seen this problem on my home PC. I have not found a resolution to the problem yet.

It is a refreash problem with in XP with the cdrom. When ejecting the CD via pushing the button on the cdrom the drive does not send the info to XP that it was ejected.

try going into my computer right click the drive and select eject. It should clear the tag.

I am figuring this is a driver issue with the cdrom. If i ever find a solution i will let you know.
