I have a creative CDRW drive that has worked perfect for months. Now, it will not recognize blank cd's. When I insert a blank cd into the drive, the read light will flicker for roughly 2 minutes. Once the light stops, nothing will read the cd as being blank..Nero says to insert a blank cd. I've tried Nero, Fireburner, and the native xp software and nothing works anymore. Any ideas?

Try the newer version of nero to see if it help. If all the software recognize your drive and then its not the sofware but your cdrw drive may have some cliches.
Go to creative site and download a newer firmware if they have one.
Else fail, time to call creative or replace a new one.

Shawn, did you by any chance install SP1 for XP just before your problems started?
Now that I think about it, my problem started shortly after I installed the service pack.

Reinstalled XP, still not working, so it's not SP1 that screwed it up.
