I have recently encountered a problem with the "cd writing wizard". I was trying to burn a data CD (containing picture and movie files - jpeg, mpg). When I selected "copy all items to a cd" in Windows Explorer, it started copying the files, and then told me it there might be problems saving the file "thumbs.db" (database file). I tryed burning the cd anyway, and when I tryed to open it up (after burning), it couldn't read the CD. How can I fix this? Please help!
P.S. I recently installed Roxio CD Creator 5, but soon ran a system restore because of errors. Does this have anything to do with it?

I presume you ran Restore AFTER you had installed Roxio. This being the case the system will have restored to the pre-Roxio state thus removing any of Roxio's system files.

Joe,

I use the xp's CD writing wizard and I have Nero installed and it still works fine. So maybe it is a conflict with Roxio CD burning software. Try uninstalling it and if that does not work use a registry cleaner like Regcleaner(it is a free program) to make sure it is completely gone. If all of that fails try contacting Roxio to see what the problem is.
Send me an email if it works or not.

P.S. I am not a computer whiz but what I said is what I would do.

Joe,

"Thumbs.db" is a file created by Windows inside a folder that you viewed in thumbnail view. You obviously clicked "select all" when you copied the pics. Try burning again without that file.
