Hello ;} My cd rom isn't working at the moment....it says DISK NOT FORMATTED NOT RECOGNIZED OR CORRUPT. It does work every now and then though......if Im lucky. I tired the same cd's to make sure it wasn't just the CD. In other words, the same cd I tried an hour ago gave me the error and now when I tried it, it read it and worked. Any one have a clue??? Thanks

CD unit is dirty or dying. Try cleaning it with a cleaning disk or replacing it.

Hi Hayli,
It sounds like your CD has dust on the surface of the shiny side. Just give it a gentle wipe and make sure it's clean [don't get it wet :-P]. The CD-ROM should read it fine after that.
ER4S3R. Hope That Helps.

I think per is closer, the laser on your optical drive might be dirty or defective, get a CDROM drive cleaner first.
