Cd rom not working

Have external TDH DVDRW 880N was working 3 days ago now not. Went into system information and say its disabled. Not sure what do. Any ideals. Thanks for all help

Hi dwsr1,

Right click on My Computer and select Properties.

Select the Hardware tab and click on Device Manager.

Select DVD/CDROM drives to expand it.

Right click on your CD drive and select Enable.

ok did as you said it said it was enabled so disable then enabled restarted computer now it is not in system infor. sbut does not show up in my computer either. thanks for your help

Try finding installing the drivers and not letting windows do it. Maybe xp needs some help in detecting by you installing the driver
