If the cd is in the tray and trying to do something, it won't open. If the light on the cd isn't blinking, then there's probably no activity. Open the Control Panel and right click the drive and choose eject. If that doesn't work, you can insert a paper clip into the small hole on the front of the cd player to open it. Also try rebooting and see if you can open it upon a fresh load up.

Try going into My Computer then right click on the cd drive letter. Scroll down to the eject button. If the cd rom is going it may take a number of tries.

You may also have a hole in the front of the drive that you can insert a paper clip. Push gently.

I am a slow typer...lol!

Is this a laptop or desktop? Watch the start up screens to see if the BIOS is identifying all the drives.
