I'm having a problem with my Ricoh CD-R/RW 7060S. It's funny, because after I installed, I burned a couple CD's. Now, all of a sudden, in the Device Manager, the "Device Status" reads, "Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41) -- So far, I removed the device, and re-detected, fortunatly I had the CABS on my hard drive, so it asked for the WinXP CD, and I pointed it to the directory where the CABS were, no change. I have an Adaptec 2940 AU running BIOS 1.21. Ricoh doesn't appear to have any drivers on it's site aside from a firmware update, which I tried to utilize, but the utility is not seeing the device. Adaptec has no firmware updates that I saw for the 2940AU. The SCSI card is working fine, as I have a SCSI hardrive attached to it which is currently functioning, sorry for the rambling, but I figured I'd throw in as many details as possible. Has anybody run into anything similar, or does anybody have any input? What am I missing here? :) Unfortunatley, that drive was also acting as my CD-ROM. I can't install any media, argh. Please help!

If you loaded Adaptec Creator 5, that is the source of problem. Search Microsoft Knowledgebase for Article ID: Q270008. That will solve your problem.Good luck,
Bob
