My Cd Drive suddenly dissapeared, I am nearly 100% positive it is a virus because it happened after i downloaded some freeware. I scanned all files that i downloaded before i opened and Norton Antivirus didnt come up with anything. What viruses are out there? Is it fixable if so how do i fix it, will it damage the hardware itself?

Corey,

I just answered this one for someone a few days ago. If your cd drive shows up in Device Manager, but not in your explorer window... there's a simple registry fix. Read the following post and you should have your answer.
