Sony VAIO VGN-FJ170P Needs OS Broken Cd drive

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-FJ170P and the cd drive is shot and and this laptop needs a OS. How can I put a OS on this laptop without a cd driver and this laptop is not usb bootable.

    1. You need some bootable way if it doesn’t boot right now. Pc card might work, network boot may work. Take out drive and do a very complex instal that way.
      Floppy drive has ways to work.

      I’d either fix the cd or buy a new laptop.

      1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can’t drive any better than a drunk.
