Have you got the latest firmware for your CD driver installed.

You might try flashing the firmware but I don't think that is your problem. However, if it always shows up in your BIOS then it is probably your firmware.

If it isn't the firmware then you could have a loose cable that is plugged into the CD drive. Check and make sure that the cable from the motherboard to the CD drive is all the way in on both ends. If that is not the case you could try replacing the cable that goes from the motherboard to the CD drive. If none of these work then you could have a bad CD drive.

If you are comfortable editing the registry:
Create a Restore point and back up the registry.Open regedit.
Look for;

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\system\CurrentControlSet\SetControlClass.
Key name: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Value Data:[Delete all value data from upper and lower filters]
Note-Do not delete the key or the multi-string values. Delete only the data values.
Exit regedit and reboot.
If the key is not there look in:
Controlset001/Control/Class"
