CD Burning DVD playback

Hi all, has anyone had trouble using Nero Burning ROM 5.0 with XP? Almost 50% of the time I try to burn a CD with it, XP will crash (the computer restarts). Never happens with XP's own burning utility. Unfortunately, XP only seems to support CDs up to 650Mb, which means I have to use 3rd party software for most of my burning (unless someone knows of a way for XP to burn to the CD's full capacity?). Another thing is that DVD playback is a bit strange, if I use WMP8 the movie will jump ahead a few minutes every now and again. If I use PowerDVD3.0 (which is supposed to be XP compatible) I get a 'cannot playback DVD' error after a few seconds to a few minutes of playback. What's weird is that if I switch to file-mode and load the .VOBs into PDVD's playlist, the movie will play just fine... The CDRW and DVD are both on the 2nd IDE channel, so I'm not sure if it's a busmastering problem or an ASPI issue or what.. My system is: WinXP 2462 Epox 8KTA2 (kt133) Motherboard AMD 1GHz CPU 256Mb pc133 SDRAM Pioneer DVD-113 Ricoh CDRW 7060A Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Although not a true solution, I have had the same issues with Windows 2000, and since it is almost the identical kernel as XP I think this might work. I just re-installed all drivers for my video card (after finding win 2000 drivers for all hardware from the manufacturers NOT MICROSOFT!!!(they did not work properly for some reson for my video card) I get a SORT of stable evvironment. I can finally watch DVD's with only occasional seize up, reboot, or audio drop out.
its really easy to fi that crap on just dont use the XP burning soft it sucks load nero and up the amount of swap space that the computer can use and guess what its all fixed
"thinks to him self wow i wish people knew have the of Bull s--- that spit out"
Summary: I can think of one good reason to get the CD burner instead. With the OS being 850 and the RAM being 128. Most DVD burners require a minimum of a 800MHz processor but recommend no less than 1.2GHz whe...
