Just installed MSI 48x-16x-48x cdrw on pc and when i went to burn my first cd, using nero 5.5.9 it only was capable to burn the image at 24x speed.

Anyone know if I am doing something wrong or something with Nero software.

thanks

Another thing to note is that even tho the cdrw can burn at 48x if your copying a cd, theres no way on earth the cd rom can supply the cdrw with data fast enough unless you have a Kenwood 72x true speed cd rom. If you try and burn at 48x it will try to, but there will be many buffer under runs/faults that the software(Justlink etc) will recover for you, and that will take some time, so take some good advice, burning at max speed is not the best choice, and setting you burn speed at say 20x can often complete the burn as fast or faster than setting it at 48x, this is espially true if you are creating game cd backups, then I recomend you burn them at about 8x for best results, and at your slowest speed if its a play station backup.
For best results see what Nero rates the true audio read speed of your cdrom, and set your burner at the same speed for on the fly cd cooking, well thats my 2c :-)
cheers
Peco
