Hey.
I was wondering about the new catalyst drivers. I installed the new ones, but it casues my compter to slow down termendously. When i go to media player and try to play a video, it does not let me, i did a system restore and went back to the origanal ones. I then downloaded and tried to install them again, but the same thing, I am currently running SP(2), has anyone have any ideas what is going on, cause i am lost. Thank you.

First off, dont trust system restore to sort anything!!!

Uninstall the old Cat drivers manually and reinstall the new ones manually making sure you restart comp after doing each etc.

If you still get probs, check your available disk space. Are you low? Check the size of your swap file allocation...have you done it manually?

Check all settings for video options such as refresh rate (75Hz is a good place to start), resolution, acceleration and second monitors.

The only reason why i did a system restore is becasue when i tried rolling back to the old drivers it did not work, and when i uninstalled the new ones, and put back in the new ones, it still did not work correctly, the old ones were working like the new ones. I have mostly what you said, except for the refresh rate and the acceleration, cannot believe i didnot think of that. well, i will give that a go. thanks man.
