Card Reader Problem

I have a desktop and Laptop PC that both have a built in SD card reader. When I try to access my micro-SD card with the adapter, I get an error stated the drive is not accessible on both laptop and desktop. I took the card to local computer store and was able to access all contents on the showroom laptop. The guy at the store said it could be the drivers or firmware of your card readers need to be updated. Ran device manager and no new drivers were found for my card reader. I run XP on both and I think the showroom laptop was probably running Vista, I'm guessing, but didn't notice. Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks guys. I have concluded that the card readers installed on my 2 computers do not support this type of card. I have purchased a USB adapter that my micro SDHC card inserts into. Works great. Thanks again for the replies.
