New job & Dell PC with Windows XP Professional. In start list, setting is the only way to get to the control panel. I have not been able to create a short-cut to the desktop? Appreciate the help! Thanks Lisalou

when you bring up the control panel screen simply go up to the upper left hand corner of the screen and put your mouse over the Icon (looks like a pencil on a check marked square) and hold down the left button of the mouse and drag it to the desktop or quicklaunch which ever you like.
