Comment: New job & Dell PC with Windows XP Professional. In start list, setting is the only way to get to the control panel. I have not been able to create a short-cut to the desktop? Appreciate the help! Thanks Lisalou

Reply: when you bring up the control panel screen simply go up to the upper left hand corner of the screen and put your mouse over the Icon (looks like a pencil on a check marked square) and hold down the left button of the mouse and drag it to the desktop or quicklaunch which ever you like.
