Solved Can't view pics off of people's Instagram URLs

Specs: Windows XP
Regarding people on Twitter who post links to Instagram photos:

So I always right-click the link and open them up in a new window and look at them.

But now, it seems I can't even do that - doing that now just gives me a page telling me to login to Instagram. I have no account, and there is nothing there showing me how to start an account. Doing some digging, I find that you can only start an account by using their cellphone app. I don't have a cellphone and have no intention of getting one.

So it seems I can no longer view anyone's pics this way.

My question is WHY? Why is Instagram doing this? What harm is there in viewing people's photos? You can't even comment on them on Instagram unless you have an account. So why would they care about non-account holders simply viewing account holders' pics via Twitter links?

Now, there is another way to view those pics: the website Webstagram. Just search for the person you want and when you find them, you'll get a page of their Instagram pics and you can see what they wrote on Twitter beside each pic and your eyes can match it up that way. Thank God.

So if anyone can tell me WHY Instagram is going this, thanks a lot.
