Comment:

I downloaded some pics from my camera and then moved them by dragging and dropping into another file folder. Now when I open the file folder to view the pics, I cannot view. Also, the original file no longer is available as I did not copy it before I moved it. Please help!

What happens when you double-click to open the files? Does the jpg file extension show correctly?

My camera won't allow me to move the files using Windows. I actually have to bring up the menu on the camera itself in order to delete pics.

It opens in picture and fax viewer with the message: no preview available. In the thumbnail view, the pics are labeled with a .jpg

using explorer do a search of the entire hard drive for *.jpg.

Odds are you slipped with the mouse and deposited the files elsewhere than the target folder.

No, I have the correct folder, it just seems to have not copied file correctly. How do I view once I have found the file?

Usually you install the camera software that comes with the camera. The camera software includes a viewer. Once installed you double click on the file and the viewer auto opens.

Rebecca1,
Try this:

Start>Run then copy and paste or type :

regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll

Click OK

Note that the spacing is important.

Highlight a file that you moved and click on properties. Make sure all your attributes like "hidden" and "archive" are NOT checked!

Have you tried opening the files in another graphic viewer? Like Paint, or Irfanview?
