I have a big problem and hope someone could help me with it.
I have a program that I uninstalled a few months ago to clear up space in my hard drive.
Anyways, I have a school project coming up and require the use of this program so I tried to install it again today but it won't because the program wasn't completely uninstalled the last time I did it.
I tried uninstalling the program but the uninstall button (.msi) is gone! Does anyone know how I can completely get rid of any traces of this program on my computer so I could install it again on my cmputer? Thank you for your help!

Compwhiz, how did you uninstall it last time? Add/remove won't always work. Some programs won't completely uninstall unless we use their specific uninstaller. They put things in rather obscure places and unless you know where they are, they louse up future installs. Could it be you need to restore the program (can you access it via Windows Explorer?), uninstall using it's uninstaller and try again?
HTH.

bad news. only two ways of fixing this i know is the dangerous method and the extreem method.
the extreem method is compleatly reinstalling windows. not advised as you will lose all programs and file.
the dangerous method is editing the regestry.
dangerous because you can screw windows doing that. both are majour solutions. main problem is the quickest soluton is regedit but if you dont know about it you shouldnt be in it. i cant give you instructions that are specific enough since im not 100% sure about it myself. hopefully some one will see this and give you good instructions sorryall text needs typos. There there for the reader to find,to distract them from the total lack of content. google it! wasnt the answer to the question i asked so dont be dense and give me that reply!

Hey, thanks for the help fellas but I already fixed it!
What's good about a computer is that if you fiddle around with it long enough you are bound to find a solution...though I'd advise everyone to actually seek solutions from actual technicians because you could really harm your computer if you don't know what you're doing.
Anyways, I downloaded a bunch of "uninstaller" program that promised to do a clean uninstall of that program but they all failed. I then stumbled upon System Restore and thought it might be worth a shot. I restored it back and month and TADA! The program was still installed on my computer at the time. All is good in the world! ;)
