hi, help me~~~ my friend computer is in critical~~ and i was asked to help, but i got no idea how to solve the problem. during reboot, system able to get to the screen with these options. -safe mode -safe mode with networking -safe mode with cmd prompt -last known good configuration -start windows normally i had tried to boot it into safe mode, but can't get in successful. then i also tried to boot using LAST KNOW GOOD CONFIG, still the same, fail. the system keep rebooting before getting in windows. i managed to see the loading screen. after loading screen, it will start SCAN DISK after SCAN DISK cmpleted, it reboots. all the above is what i had seen and tried. according to the system owner, she siad she able to load until the LOGON SCREEN before the system reboot. that all~~ anyone can help~? isn't the problem on logon process? and how can i solve this problem? problem summary -- can't boot into XP -- safe mode and last know good not woking -- after loading screen, SCAN DISK started -- sometime can get in to LOGON screen b4 reboot -- reboot

If you have the XP disc handy - run chkdsk /r from the recovery console.
