Ok here my problem, I have a drive that is in FAT32. Now XP see's the drive, but I can't see the files. It alway's asks me if I want to format. I don't think so. How come XP can read the drive? (my XP is formatted in NTFS) I thought I could read FAT32. If I convert it too NTFS will XP then be able to read it? But I can't change it to NTFS using windows 98. So what can I do? Thanks in advance.

Hi
Not exactly sure whats going on, but I suggest you visit the drives manufacturers website and get a diagnostic utility. This utility can carry out non destructive testing on the drive. There are some options there that can remove data there so use the utility wisely.
Ontrack has a 30 trial version that can analize your hard disk as well. Very nice Graphical interface, easy to use. It'll also check out your file system to some extent.
