Solved Can't see Slave disk files after re-install

Specs: Windows XP
Hi folks

I re-installed Win - XP on my Master hard drive, (re-formatting, etc.) and now the Slave cannot be accesssed - Prompt asks if I want to format it.

I have a partition on it with Linux Mint which I can access using Linux boot, but nothing else shows even then.

Any suggestions please?

What you need is the necessary translator software probably a driver that helps Windows read a Linux partition... following is a translator for Ext2/3 but you can search with the appropriate keywords in case your Linux partition is on some other file system

Ext2 IFS support for Windows

Other search keywords:
"Linux Mint support for windows xp",
"linux Ext2 Ext3 support for windows xp
You should find some driver or application that translates between file systems so WXP can read a Linux partition

Explore2fs is a GUI explorer tool for accessing ext2 and ext3 filesystems.

The beginners guide to dual booting link seems my best handle on this - the original installation gave the customary choice of op. system on boot which of course disappeared with the re-install.

Many thanks Chicano.
