Can't See Or Transfer Digital Photo

Something has happened to my cousin's PC that is preventing it from seeing the images on my digital camera.
The camera, a Canon Power Shot, shows up as a drive when I connect it with a USB cable. But when I click on the drive icon, the photos do not show up. And when I click on "Get pictures from camera" in the common tasks box, an error message pops up: "The camera or scanner is in use. Please try again later."
I can transfer photos to other PCs without problems, and I could do so with this PC previously.

efs2, SWAG, sounds as though you might be trying to view things with the wrong software? Change the association and see if that helps? HTH. Ed in Texas.

Greetings: The mystery is solved. The USB port I was using is bad - but not enough to be obvious. I plugged into another port, and all is well. Thanks. Ed
