i had the windows antivirus pro virus thing, but i got rid of the(i think i did after I started the computer in safe mode but now im not so sure) i couldnt run .exe files before so i went to regedit and changed the value to "1%"1% or whatever it is and they ran fine,now however i started up my computer and i cant open .exe files at all, and when i right click there is no open choice, i cant download,run or open any programs. i cant do a system restore, i can pretty much search the web(which btw my web browser is hijacked) or turn my computer off, also my icons are gon its just that white default picture. what do i do? i cant run any antivirus software of download any so please dont suggest that. i really need your help on how to run .exe files thank you

oh my goodness it actually worked, thank you so much for this i really aprreciate the help oh except my icons are still blank,seems like an easy fix, but do you know a quick solution?

gjklbhn334,, For the icon problem. Right click your Desktop, choose Properties, under the Settings tab change the Color Quality from 32 bit to 16 bit, click Apply/OK. Now go back and change the Color Quality from 16 bit to 32 bit, click Apply/OK. This will rebuild the iconcache.db file and may correct the problem. Tufenuf
