a few days ago, i was trying to teach myself how to manage group policy. the first thing i did was to deny access to programs. i thought i had prevent access to a burning program nero, but after i restarted my computer, everything went wrong. i am unable to use any programs now... absolutely nothing. then i tried to put everything back to where it was, but i am also unable to access gpedit.msc now. please help.. thx in advance!!

Can you run System Restore? If so, restore to a point before you started using Group Policy. If not, try running it from the command line, see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;304449 for more info.

Have you tired system restore(start, programs, system tools, system retore). Try to go back to the last restore point before your experiment. If you can't run the system restore, try right-click on system restore and select RUN AS, and then select FOLLOWING USER and enter your Administrator username and password. Something that I would also try is creating a new Administrator user and fix it in a clean account. Or a Limited account, but you may still need to select RUN AS to run system restore, I don't konw if you can run restore as a limited user.

If these don't work and nobody else can do anything then backup as much data as possible on a secondary hard drive and reinstall.
