Hi all,
I'm not sure how it happened, but I just noticed that the majority of my desktop icons have suddenly changed their appearance. They all still work, but they all appear with the default file icon symbol. I hope you guys know what I mean. Thx for your assistance.

cris27, Glad to see that the problem is fixed. Which method did you use to fix it? As far as why it happens it's hard to say as Windows does do some strange things at times. This has happened to many others and it's nothing to worry about.

Hi Tufenuf,
I tried your method first, but it unfortunately didn't work for me. I did as you told me and opened Windows in Safe Mode and then restarted normally, but the icons were still the same. Maybe if I had chosen the option for Windows to go back to a previous state, it might have helped? Thanks for your assistance anyways, it was much appreciated.
