virus
trojan horse downlaoder. nex. bc:\system volume information\_restore{CA486D2A-A26A-4A5A-9EA2-FD3CC32EA422}\RP65\A0013286.com
i ran AVG for windows but still there. tried to delete file but it says i don't have access.
R. Mornix

r.mornix -
i had that same virus, but i dual boot with linux so i just went through linux to the drive and deleted the file...but if you dont dual boot then try going into safemode, manually delete the file, reboot into windows, run the virus scanner and it shuold be gone.
or just use an online virus scanner

i think its f5 but i dont remember if thats it...just to make it easier when windows is loading and u see the bar going, reboot...although i dont recemend this way it still works, you will get a screen that says something like "window shas encountered an error wile trying to load would u like to"
blah blah blah
there will be something for safemode and something for safemode with networking, you just want safemode.
now when u click that it might take your computer around twice as long as it did before to boot but thats only because its running on the bare minimum..when you get into windows make sure you read the box that pops up carfully, it will explain that some programs will not work in safemode and ect...if you want to do a system restore to before you downloaded that information is in there also

nope its f8 ....as soon as you see booting to windows, push it...if you dont see it just when u boot keep on pushing it tell ur computer beeps at you, then slowly push it like once every 2 seconds

first off no worries any virus/worm/toejammer can be removed...avg is the best for finding them..heres what u do..run avg 6.0 free...if cant delete then moved to virus vault all the ones avg doesnt delete...restart computer.....run avg again, go to virus vault and click on delete..and boom they are gone.....more serious viruses have to be removed manually thru dos mode but that one u can thru avg..goodluck feel free to ask any question and i will give ya step by step instructions. goood day

Ok I have AVG 7.0 paid program and when I run AVG to check for Viruses it finds the following viruses.
Downloader.comet.A
Downloader.comet.B
Downloader.comet.C
Downloader.comet.Dand so on but AVG doesn't give me the option to remove them at all. I think its because they are all enbedded. So heres my question. How do I remove a enbedded trojan horse? and plz dont say run in safe mode because I already tried that and it wont let me remove it. so if any of you ppl know how to remove it PLZ!!!!! let me know thx :-)

Download Ad Aware, it's free and gets rid of those nasty little trojans AVG can't remove!
Please after download of Ad Aware run an update so as not to miss any other spy ware in your machine, because thats what your alleged virus is, it is some company or other monitoring what you are doing on the net (for marketing purposes only :-) ) any problems feel free to e-mail me matthew.disney@ntlworld.com

I have the trojan downloader.comet.b and have used adaware and the free version of avg and have got trojan remover off the net but still get the pop ups telling me its on my machine. Any ideas i'd be grateful! Thanks
