Can't reinstall xp pro without this file

September 2, 2011 at 10:26:46
Specs: Windows XP Pro, Pent.4 2.40Ghz
winnt32.exe is missing on computer. I have used the search/find program and it can not find the file winnt32.exe. My computer did not come with the operating discs. I was told that these files are pre-loaded onto the computer. However without having the discs, no boot disc, no system disc and no winnt32.exe file I have not been able to re-install my wifes windows program to its original state. I have already saved all files, pictures, docs.,drivers, or have the programs that have the necessary files on the disc. What ever can I do...I am not a novice neither am I by no means a "Geek", I do quite simply need HELP. By the way I have tried without any success using the help suggested by Microsoft...downloading a Registry Fix-It program, which Microsoft said would fix the problem with the missing winnt32.exe file. DUH. That was a bad joke which cost me the price of purchasing the program that stated I had over a thousand errors and my PC was in "critical condition" and needed immediate attention. ParetoLogic is the rec. prog.,and it did not do as Microsoft said it would nor did it fix my problem with the missing file. I have, I hope said enough and only hope that someone can help without suggesting buying yet another Registry Fix-It program scam.

To access the preloaded recovery system, you have to press a key combination like ALT+F10 or something like that, when computer is just switched on.

You are expecting our help, we are expecting your response !!!

The winnt32.exe file is the file that starts the install process. If the file is not present then the install files are probably not there either. Many systems do not have them.

Most OEM computers have a recovery partition. Alternatively you may be able to obtain a recovery disk from the manufacturer.
