This isn't a Windows XP problem but someone here might have a solution. I bought a 512 MB Verbatim flash drive and had approx. half utilized when I pulled it out too quickly and now my system can't read it (it recognizes there is something in the USB drive but can't read it). Previously the same thing happened to a 256 MB stick and my son was able to revive it without losing any files. Apparently the Verbatim drive is partitioned into a 8 MB and a 504 MB sections. That's all he could find out.
Is there a way of resurrecting the dead area?
Verbatim has a web site and I have sent them an email, but I don't hold much hope of help from them.
