Comment:

I in the past have been able to post to the 123stitch message board (www.123stitch.com) but I have not been able to for two days now. When I read the messages and hit post a reply it takes me back to the MAIN message board page and I can't reply)
I have rebooted, cleaned the temp int files, cleaned the history, defragged, I've scanned for viruses etc.. None of those helped.
I am using IE7.. I run Norton Internet Security. I have even tried turning off the pop up blocker etc and nothing helps. I didn't change anything or add any programs

Anyone have any suggestions or fixes...

I am not sure if this is the right forum but if it ins't let me know and I will post there. Sorry I am not sure what the proper place to post this would be!

Thanks

Have you tried emailing them that you are unable to post there?

If nothing else seems to be wrong with Windows, you probably haven't got malware.

Some places on the web have a time limit as to how long you allowed to take to make and submit a post. If the post is a longer one, and/or if it took you a longer time to finish it, when you try to submit it, it won't "take" if the time limit has been exceeded - sometimes you get an error message saying so, sometimes you don't. (This site used to have such a time limit, and you got a message).

In that case, if you need to make a longer post or if it takes you a long time, make it in Notepad, then when you are ready, go to the message board, and copy the post from Notepad to it.
......

If that doesn't apply try emailng them.

Since you ran all your anti-malware and everything you probably lost your log in cookie. That would explain why you kept being sent back to the home page...if you have pop-ups blocked...well that might explain as to why you didn't see the "Need to register to post " message.

Try signing back in and saving the sign-in request!

I emailed them.. waiting on a reply..

You don't have to login to read the board... When you reply to a message thread you hit the post a reply button and a box comes up. you enter your user name and password there in order to reply. THIS BOX DOES NOT COME UP. Instead of this box coming up it brings me back to the main message board page.

I have tried turning off all pop up blockers etc. And it is even lsited as a site that is okay to have pop ups etc in my settings.

I am wondering if good old Norton has an update that changed something.

Thanks for your help!

Anyone else have any ideas???

Yes, "good old Norton" has a tendency to break things. Makes me wonder why people persist in using it, when there are better, FREE alternatives out there.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

I am using Norton security and can post on that site fine. I do know that no one else is having that problem so it's narrowed down to only her as far as I can see. Do you think she should download firefox and see if it does the same or un-install Norton and try AVG instead? Mary
