Comment:

I can hear all sound files except wav. When I go to sounds under control panel and try to play something I don't hear anything.

The reason I noticed this was I'm playing Close Combat 3 and can't get sound in the game. I hear the videos and the intro, but no game noise. Their help site says to make sure you can play wav files and it turns out I can't.

What do I need to look for?

You need to click on Tools, Folder Options and File Types. Scroll down the list of file types and see if WAV is listed. If not, then click on the NEW button and add it. Have it open with your Audio Media installed in your computer. Verify what media is presently being used for your other sound files. You could use that. Good Luck.
