When I click on a .wav file link in IE7 it wont play. Just get a blank page. Have set Internet Options to play sounds in web pages. Windows Media Player has .wav file association. Also have Quicktime installed. What's up ?

I have IE7 and they work fine for me.

Do you have a particular .wav file you can refer us to in order to see if there is a problem with it or to discover what your's is missing.

I have grown to like IE7.

Bryan,

OK, here's a page of wav file sound effects links. If I click on any of them, I just get a blank page and no sound:

Same thing happens with MP3s and Midi files.

Thx

All of the sound files on that site are .wav files and play fine on mine.

I would suspect a third party app that is blocking you such as Norton Internet Security or a similar application which provides internet security or even one of many Toolbar addons such as Yahoo, Google or AOL toolbars. (IE7, Tools, click on Menu Bar and then go to View, Toolbars to see what you may have active (even if not ticked)).

Otherwise you could look at Internet Options under Privacy (mine is set to Medium High) and Cookies should be set to accept 1st party cookies and block 3rd party cookies.

Above assumes that you can play .wav files that are stored on your PC.

Removed and reinstalled IE7 and all sound files are playing fine with the Quicktime plug-in. Dont know what was going on but I had accumulated a lot of junk, toolbars, etc so something had probably messed IE7 ?

Thx for your replies Bryan, Cheq
