Can't play some Burnt DVD-RW Laptop

I have a problem playing DVD-RW on my laptop through any DVD playing program. It will play the sound of a movie but not the picture, am i missing something? if yes where can i get it? thanks heaps :)

well you could be missing some video codecs. But it could also be the optics drive itself. They do burn out.

what I use and also the media player clasic for viewing just about any video type and very little resource user.
