I just bought the new Dave Matthews CD (Stand UP) and It plays fine on my Parents computer but won't play on my Laptop?? I don't understand. I keeps telling me I have to wait for some "keys" to be delivered? but I wait and wait and wait, and never get them. It seems to not be firing up the program properly. I thought if I tried ripping them with EasyCD creator that would get around this, but no luck either, the tracks would play after ripping but would skip continuosly. Please help, I don't want to have to use my parents computer to listen to my cd!

Thanks
Rob

Rob,

Stand Up came with pieces of software designed to prevent your from ripping tracks normally (as some sort of feeble attempt to prevent piracy); to listen to the disc, you have to let autorun handle the CD once you put it into the drive...the software that automatically loads itself onto your machine will identify the disc and go to the internet to get keys to unlock the music. Is your computer connected to the internet when you insert the disc?

starseed5250,

sorry to 'butt-in', just read your reply to Rob,I've never heard of CDs like this. If they do as you say is there prominent warning on the CD to be seen before you buy? What happens if you have no internet connection and buy this CD? There are people out there with no internet, wish I didn't have one sometimes!!

All the best

John

Hold down the shift key when you insert the cd into your laptop...

A couple of days ago, I had seen an MS article that stated that AutoPlay could be prevented from working by a Service or program.
Solution was to get the latest Service Pack for XP.
