Hi, uhmm....I had a trojan, i think called amvo, i tried to get rid of it by un-installing my current anti-virus programs and installing ones that could get rid of amvo. (my current anti-virus can't get rid of amvo). So uhm, any how, after installing my current anti-virus (nod32), my computer will not open up Windows Media Player, when i click on the winamp icon, nothing happens. My other programs opens fine, it's just winamp in general, for now at least i hope :(
Second problem, i can't stream online like it used to, whenever i try, i have a pop up window saying "Can not create direct show player". All of this started happening the same time.
Also, i am not sure if nod32 got rid of my trojans or not, thanks!!!!!

Get rid of Winamp...it opens the door to infections. And get rid of nod32. Try AVG Free or AVAST! anti-virus...both are free. Also, download & install CCleaner & use it regularly. When you install it, do NOT allow Yahoo toolbar to install (it's spyware). You can get all those programs (& plenty more) from here:

Winamp itself is not spyware, but it did have a glitch in it's skins that allowed spyware/viruses to leap onto your system. I'm sure it's been patched in the latest versions, but version 3.x & early 5.x versions were susceptible.

OK then, I use the default skin and set for no internet connection. Only use the basic program running the latest version.

Winamp is fail.
Windows has a music player.
