I have an excel file (6 MB), developed in Office XP and works fine with XP. When I try to open in Office 2000, it takes 30 minutes to open, also in office 97 , it just locks up the system. I also, tried to save as 97-2000 file, still it doesnt seem to work, but has almost doubled the file size. I have Macros and controls in my workbook, is that what is causing the problem?
I have similar files that work fine,....except this one.....someone please help me...its pretty urgent.....

your trying to take the latest greatest the uncle billy has to offer and stuff it in a very old program.
your macros and such are prolly the cause of the trouble. when moving backwards to older versions of office apps, most of your macros will be gone. they are just not supported under those older apps.
