gnotify.exe is a file used by Gmail. Did you have Gmail installed on your machine? If so, and you uninstalled it, you may have done it improperly. I would reinstall Gmail and then if you don't want it, uninstall it properly.

you try to uninstall the Google or the GMail, and after uninstall go to the "Program Files" there look all related to the google or Gmail Folder, then delete it, and make sure take a look for the task manager, make sure not in use, then u can delete it. After done so, see can open the D drive or not !! take a try
