After loading a beta version of XP pro on my laptop (which included a seemingly never ending evaluation period), I received a notice on my log on screen one week out saying my XP needed activating. Whenever I'd follow the prompts to activate it from logon nothing would happen and my profile would start up as normal. When going through Start menu to activate it, I always got the message it had already been done. Now that it expired, I can't log on AT ALL without activating, which it won't let me do! How can I load a new OS or at least pull off all my important files if I have to reformat? What are my options? Help!
