Hi I have a dell inspiron 1300 laptop which i think xp has expired as it is a copy and suddenly stopped working one day, cant logon in anyway even safe mode the desktop cum up and logs straight back off, so i decided i was just gonna wipe it, put the disc in and it wont boot , ive changed the boot sequence to boot cd drive first and all it says is basically there is nothing to boot, the last time i had to install windows on it from runnin the cd from the desktop when i was logged on but cant do that now, the cd is fine no scratches and boots up fine used same cd on my pc and my other laptop, can any1 help please.

yes boot up into safe mode with command prompt select administrator account and type the following command net user then press enter this brings up a list users on your pc then type net user ("then the user you are typing to log on as") and then enter check to see if the user account is expired after that type net accounts then press enter and check the net account formation and make sure you have the wright times to log on to the accounts and the account is not inactive at all then after that if all is correct and not disabled then i will tell you how to fix this using regedit

ive clicked on safemode with command prompt and it comes up with the logon name and administrator , i clicked administrator and it doing the same thing it says loading peronal details as if its going to logon and then ay saving your settings and goes back to that screen same with the username

tried it in safemode and its doing the same thing , first time i click it it flashes my desktop pic and says logging off the if i do it again it doesnt even get that far it still stays on the logon screen sayin saving your settings
