can't log on to windows

Hewlett-packard / Pavilion ze4800
February 3, 2009 at 21:20:08
Specs: Windows XP, Intel pentium
I wanted to no have to log in each time I turn my laptop on. I followed someone's directions but didn't understand what they meant when they said "For Windows XP Home, don't try to auto-login as the built-in Administrator, as you'll receive an error message." Now when my computer restarted, it still tries to log in as administrator and says "Unable to log you on because of an account restriction". It won't let me log in as "guest" either. I can't get it into safe mode either, because I can't log in.

XP Home will not allow the use of the Administrator account in normal mode, but should do in safe mode. Do you get the Welcome screen at start up?

no. there's a page where I can press F2 setup or F8 boot menu, Then a windows screen, then a blue wavy screen. Then it goes to the logon to windows box and won't let me login.
