It's as simple as that... I can't log into secure sites. This happened after I installed firewall software, ZoneAlarm specifically. I have uninstalled it, but it still doesn't work.

When I built my friend an XP machine, they had the same problem on some secure sites. I fixed it by going to tools - internet options - advanced tab - and unchecking "Use TLS 1.0" towards the bottom. I don't know that ZoneAlarm would have changed this setting, it could just be ZoneAlarm's config, but it's somewhere to start I guess.

TLS 1.0 is still used as an encryption method on certain websites, so you may not want to uncheck it.
Go through all your settings in IE. Set them all to defaults.
If it STILL does not work, e-mail me and I will give you a list of commands to perform, specifically registering certain .dll files, and then that will definitely do it.

I would check to make sure your default XP MTU size is still set, If you search for "how to manually set MTU size w/XP" you can hack the registry to set it at 1492 which should work on most sites.
