Hi,
This usually happens at restart after an upgrade to XP. Check out this site:

I have tried to type chkdsk /r in Recovery Console...but It said "volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problem". So I tried fixboot, and it said a new bootsector is installed....
However when I restart and choosing DOS in my GRUB loader.... the black screen appears again saying :
Booting 'DOS'
rootnoverify(hd0,0)
chainloader + 1NTLDR is missing
What da heck is going on? Can anyone help me? thanks.

s---....... i tried to unmount my master HD where the windows installed....I found that all the files appear to be symbols and question marks..... I wonder if my filesystem has corrupted or what.... I am really desperate...I has many important documents inside,,,,
