Comment:

I can't load back to windows after logged in the linux and restarted.

A black screen appears after I have chosen DOS in GRUB, the error msg is

Booting 'DOS'
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader + 1

this screen lasts for about 20 seconds and the windows loading screen shows up next. But then another blue screen appears, the msg is:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
Blah Blah Blah
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
STOR:0x000000ED(0x81B98E30, 0xC000009C, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Can anyone tell me what's going on and how to rectify this? THanks alot.

This usually happens at restart after an upgrade to XP. Check out this site:

I have tried to type chkdsk /r in Recovery Console...but It said "volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problem". So I tried fixboot, and it said a new bootsector is installed....

However when I restart and choosing DOS in my GRUB loader.... the black screen appears again saying :

Booting 'DOS'
rootnoverify(hd0,0)
chainloader + 1

NTLDR is missing

What da heck is going on? Can anyone help me? thanks.
